I just found this tool for Windows 7 & 8 (32, 64bit), doesn’t seem to be much chatter on here about it.
Basically an updated version of Media Center Studio (MCS), with a lot more features.
Using the trial version at the moment, was able to import astro’s black theme from W7 on W8 64bit.
Later,

I can’t remember if I tried this application or not, but if it is the one I tried, I thought it needed different files – not just Austro’s ehres.dll file. Are you able to talk me through how you applied Astro’s theme? It is the one I am really missing since the upgrade to W8.

Have just had another look at it. It was this that I tried last time, and after looking at it again, i am not sure if they have since added the importing of .dll files feature, or possibly I just didn’t realise that was an option, but either way, Astros Black theme was able to be imported. Now I have inky black MC back again. Very Happy. Thanks for the info Nudge.

Is “Astrology7_Black” a typo and meant to be “Astrotoy7_Black”, or is it a different theme?

Just thought I would let you know that your 13 row guide has a major problem, when you highlight a program (it works on the 11 row) you don’t get any program info on the bottom of the screen. Also the red recording dots (Single dot or 3 dots for series) don’t show up unless you scroll up or down the guide.
The problem lies in that to use 13 rows (like the one I made as in the thread under windows 8 here) you have to change the size of the red dot (single & series) and also the sizes on the fonts and row heights so to achieve the 13 rows and still get the info on the bottom of the screen and the red recording dots to appear.
All you are doing is adding rows but not making any proper adjustments, further there is another fault as when you do a guide reset with your program, then uninstall your program, then install the My Channels Program, My Channel Program wont alter the guide because your program does not reset the MCE guide, it does not bring MCE back to its original state and leaves altered files behind.
You need to fine tune the 13 rows by adding in font reduction, red dot size reduction and height reduction of the rows, otherwise the 12 Rows from Mt Channel Program is better, that’s if I get it work again which means a another full rebuild, not happy.
Would be better off playing with my 13 row files to get them working with windows 8.1, they work with windows 8 ok? only bought your program because it said it could do 13 rows which it really cannot do at this point in time?

If you are having issues or would like something improved contact support via the ticket system.
In response to reset either by restoring default or uninstalling, all modifications are removed and the original files are reinstated. The issue with My Channel logos is currently in progress working with the developer of My Channel Logos but has nothing to do with the restore feature.
The 13 row epg has the program info removed to allow more space for the epg to display, I have checked the recording icons and they display fine as do the fonts on Windows 8.1 see image.

HI, A single red dot shows up for me when record is pressed twice which should be series (3 red dots), the series record dots do not show. Also if I exit guide and come back to it, no red dots show at all unless I scroll thru up or down the guide they re-appear. (PS. The shows are recording and series record is working)
This has something to do with the size of the red dots being to large, have come across this before when I did my own 13 row epg.
What I am say is, if you apply 13 rows and change the row size the red dot size must be lowered also? to work correctly.
Also you can fit 13 rows in and have the info appear at the bottom as long as you reduce row & font size, remember some people have 55″ to 70″ TV’s and the font size on your 13 rows can be read 100 yards away.
As you can see from the attached photo 13 rows can be achieved with room for info at bottom, its just that this file does not work with windows 8.1 only windows 8
PS. Whats the chances of getting my 13 row Microsoft.MediaCenter.Shell.dll & Ehres.dll ( x64) which alters the red dot size) to work in Windows 8.1, the thread “More Rows in Windows Media Center 8” page 4 has the links to the files.

I’ve added a request for the 13 row epg to updated in the next weeks update.
