I posted this on your blog... but I realize this is probably a better spot. Hey there Astrotoy7! I downloaded and installed your theme from here: http://www.theme7mc.com/2009/04/astrotoy7-black/ I just wanted to say... it is fantastic!!! Thank you so much. I do have one question: using Media Center Studio, how do I replace just the background? I found one I really like, but I don't want to change anything else. How do I do only this?

Hello Astrotoy7, Mediacenter crashes on my system (build 7600 RTM; x64) when I select Movies. Are you still developing the mediacenter black theme?

I completely forgot I changed the EPG!. Thanks Astroboy. I'll see if I can modify the record .png or find a download with them already modified. I saw your post with the reduced png but the download was corrupted. Thanks for getting me on track. Cheers,

hello sanquar - the icons in that compile are untouched - do you have media center studio or a modded mcshell installed(eg. to expand epg) guide lines? That's the only thing I can think fo that woudl be having that effect. Also make sure you are running the RC1 theme and not the RTM. Astro

Hi Astro, I've recently installed your "black" scheme to W7 rc1 and it is fantastic and much improved over the default blue. What I have noticed now is that the red recording icons have disappeared from the TV guide. I must right click on a program and check the menu options to see if it is due to record. Do you have any suggestions one what I should do to rectify this? Thanks in advance, K

Hey Astro, Italian-American Mobsters are the best. Guys like John Gotti ruled New York with an iron fist and anyone who messed with him ended up dead. You don't muck around with the Mafia mate, they're world famous unlike our pathetic Lebanese Gangs in Sydney.

Foxtel/Austar have upped their secuirty measures quite significantly over the last 12 months following the apprehension of some of the gamma card distributors. These are some important facts to consider: *there is no way to get a *legit card* from foxtel. Sure, you can get a card that has foxy working, but it is far from legit! *due to the added security measures, deploying it in a dvbs context makes it more difficulty, due to box id checks etc. NDS hacks do exist, but they are hit and miss. At places like austech and dvbowners, you will get an idea of how precarious it really is. my recommendations are these: *With a legit sub/box, Do the analogue cap method if you want stress free, epg supported in mce and free acces to all your recordings *Try selectv, they'll happily sell you a card. Of course, channels are comparativly limited. Depends on what you watch of course... No nds to worry about. Just irdeto. You can get this up and running in vmc or dvbviewer etc with a compatible tuner. Hauppauge now sell the TVpack happy DVBS tuners with addon CI module via USB. >>this way you'll still have full access to your recordings *Get an expensive set of kit, get an elusive(and expensive) gamma card, fiddle with settings to get it going. EPG wont work properly, box ID checks will freeze your system... it just isnt worth it in my opinion. AT least with the analogue cap method, you know THOUSANDS of people use it every day, with great guide support via epgstream/oztivo. I know it sucks, but those pricks at foxtel/austar are determined to make as much money as possible, and restrict any freedom of access to recordings even on their own pvrs. Even with the dvbs improvements in W7, until the companies co-operate, theres no point in assuming we will have foxtel in mce support. These changes are designed fort Euro/Asian/US users, where cabel companies etc are in open partnership with MS, not flogging their own pvrs like foxtel/austar here! hope that clears things up a bit. astro

Hi Astrotoy7, Im soooo wanting to get Foxtel happening in media center and from searching on the forums it looks like you have gotten the furtherest. Here's my question, Is it all possible to get a legit NDS Foxtel card working with a DVBS card? Man I hope so. There looks to be some success with NDS used in the UK and NZ? Any help greatly appriciated. Cheers, Rob
