I'm using the following tuner successfully with Windows 8 Pro with Media Center

Leadtek WinFast DTV Dongle Gold BDA Device - USB based dongle with builtin Windows drivers.

HardwareID - USB\VID_15A4&PID_9016&REV_0200&MI_00

Working well.

Most cards will work in Win8 as it should be able to use the Win7 drivers if those drivers are available. >These pages from MS list heaps of cards:

its not working for me....  it says it is working correctly in my device manager, but when i try to scan for channels in media centre setup, its comes up with an error screen "Kernel Security Check Failure"

is this common, or does anyone know what i might have done wrong. it is plugged into usb3.0 so im thinking that is an issue apparently...   im finding windows 8.1 pro a real pain !!!! nothing seems to work....  i cant even get media browser working.....
