Last night about 10pm I was watching TV with something recording on Austar when up pops a message on the screen saying the show that was recording has been cancelled due to restrictions set by the broadcaster. Up until then everything was fine I had recorded a couple of shows on Austar earlier that night no problem but now it won't even let me watch let alone record. I did a search online and came up with a suggested fix involving resetting the DRM file in windows but when I went to the windows site to upgrade the DRM I couldn't the upgrade box was greyed out. Next I restored my hard drive from my server to an image from the day before but this didn't fix it either so next I tried an install of W7 that I had on another hard drive which initially worked fine for about an hour then the same error, by this time I was really peeved so I'm calling it a night I hope someone can help. BTW it's only happening on Austar free to air is fine.

Well that's weird just got home and turned on the tele and Austar's back to normal and a scheduled recording was successful this morning at 7.30am. Who knows what happened I'm just glad it's back.

Could have been that Austar was playing around with content protection settings.

If that was the case I hope they don't do it again, I like Austar but if I couldn't record it to watch it when I want I wouldn't keep my subscription and I certainly wouldn't get one of their crappy mystar boxes.
