I think gogreenpower may have misinterpreted your question, it's a tad abiguous. I misread it as well first time round.

Anyhow, I use the hauppauge ir receiver with a harmony 525, only downside is you have to purchase the hauppauge remote & ir receiver together. I keep the hauppauge remote in the cupboard as a spare.

The harmony remotes dont come with an ir receiver.

I'm using a Prestigo SRT, highly recommended, it works with many cheap and more expensive built on IR receivers that I've had over the years.
Just buy a cheap USB IR off eBay.

Hi all,

Related question - I'm trying to find a USB IR receiver that I can get relatively quickly and cheaply. Ebay only has stuff that will ship from China and seems to indicate could take weeks... and the only thing I can find local in Australia is the Hauppage which is expensive. Am I missing something?

There are some great options on Amazon UK and US but they won't ship here (only about $15 for thinks like the Ortek VRC1100)

Has anyone found a local supplier of USB IR receivers with or without the remote?

Many thanks
