[1990Z51]

So I converted in DIVX and mp4 with the same results (both in HIGH quality). Video playback is not smooth. When I tried to do no conversion but just remove commercials, I got only audio with no video.

Any thoughts?

Can you please post the logs, there's no way to knowing what's going on otherwise.
Is this happening with all video or just one video?

there's one identified bug that can lead to jittery video which has been fixed in 2.1.6 but again I'll need to see your logs to understand why it's jittery.
It wouuld be ideal if you can upload the video to the Mcebuddy server in my signatuure to reproduce.

This is my 1st experience with MCE buddy. I have been just testing a few videos and did not let it go on my whole library.

Also, the high quality conversions are taking like 5 to 13 hours per 1 hour show, is that normal? The CPU runs about 30% during the process.

Rename the logs to .txt and then try to upload it. Teh fourm wil not allow you to upload a .log file

If you're using DIVX High quality yes, that's normal - the codec is very slow but very very good quality/size. 30% is also normal for divx. You can manually increase the number of threads by editing the profiles.conf file if you feel that the CPU is underutilized. replace -threads 0 with something like -thread 10 and see how it does for you

I will try to upload them to the ftp server ASAP... but I cannot seem to gain access to the FTP server... I have used ftp servers before, but how do you use the one listed in the top sticky post?

pretty straight forward, use a ftp client build into windows or download filezilla and use that.

So version 6 resolved the video jitters, but comskip did not work. I am reading through the log iles now.

When I go to log onto the ftp, I cannot enter a password after entering the user name....

So I did some fast MP4 and the comskip worked...

I will tr again with the high quality.

Yes 2.1.6 will help fix some of the jittery video issues - most jittery video is caused by corrupted video files. ffmpeg is very sensitive to errors whie handbrake and mencoder are more resilent. try differnt profiles and see which one works for you.

regaridng the comskip, again comskip does not handle corrupted video files well. If it isn't working try using shownanalyzer (download and install).

although what y ou said above has me baffled, comskip comes into after remux before any encoders come into play, so mp4 high or fast shouldn't make any difference.

You'll have to upload hte video for me to test it. try using filezilla as the ftp client.
