H.264 with No Resize = no image only audio on PS3

Hi,

I'm using MCEBuddy to transcode from mpeg-2 (.ts) to H.264.

Once encoded, I stream the video using PS3MediaServer onto my PS3.

If I'm using MCEBuddy's default H.264 profile, everything works well. However, since I'm often recording 1080p videos I would like to encode them without any resize. Choosing the "H.264 No Resize" profile does give me a proper video file playable on my PC, but using PS3MediaServer to stream it to my PS3, I only get audio.

I am at a loss on where the problem might be since in my mind, MCEBuddy's H.264 default and H.264 no resize profiles should basically be the same... same encoding, same container, only different size.

Is anybody else having this issue, found a solution, or have any suggestion ?

Thanks!

MceBuddy 1.x is no longer supported.

However with the next release of MCEBuddy 2.1 you have an option to include noresize for any profile. There is a parameter fixedresolution=true which can be used to prevent mcebuddy from resizing the video.

there is however a workaround you can use with MCEBuddy 2.0 BETA 20, for the profile you're using set the max resolution slider all the way upto maximum and it won't resize the video. H.264 would be hte MP4 high quality profile.

Thanks, I'll be sure to try it out!

It's a no go. Same issue as before. I will try resizing the video to 720p instead keeping it at its original 1080p.

I know for a fact that the problem is not PS2 Media Server as I copied the MP4 to a USB key and had the same problem. All audio, no video.

Resizing the original source to 720p made it work. Don't know why the PS3 will not display the video from a 1080p MP4 though... I wonder why.
