Perhaps one (or more) of these? They say I can handle Blu-ray.

Blu-ray, & progressive video in general, isn't as taxing on a GPU as interlaced content is. These sorts of things simply can't deinterlace well enough to use for viewing TV (recorded or live), no matter what OS you run on them.

I managed to offload my Arctic MC001 - never got it doing great TV playback, but it's very good as a general desktop.

I'm now looking at the Asus E45M1-I-DELUXE & am thinking the Antec ISK 110 VESA mount case might be the go.

The lack of vector adaptive isn't a concern as it's for a 26 inch LCD. I've already got RAM, hard drive & OS, so it will be a touch over $300 - pretty favorable compared to barebones SFF PCs on the market.

Hi Justin you will find the the Asus E45M1-I-Deluxe will make a great little HTPC that is rather reponsive to all your htpc needs. The picture quality will be great on a 26 inch. The system I built is being used by my mother inlaw on her 46 inch sony lcd. the picture quality is very good for her viewing needs.

Thanks for that Andrew. I presume it's running in a passive config in that scenario? Does it seem OK running like that?

The Antec case is all mesh on the sides, so it should be fine.

Hi Justin, sorry for late reply, been away.
Yes the system is running passive. I used the AYwun MW107 case which only has limited venting.
The case get quite hot to the touch ( system runs at about 65c) The E-450 chip is rated at 90c max running temp.

So therefore your case should be fine.

The MC001 is actually not bad. The thing I liked the most is the passive cooling. but I have to admit there is a small issue needed to be fixed. Hope their upcoming version would be better.

I agree - it looks great, build quality seems good, the passive cooling system is better than the Shuttle passive IONs, & for general use it's very snappy, but.... it just can't seem to do smooth playback when deinterlacing. :( Surely an E-450 system would be a better go for them? Pairing an Atom with an ATI mobile GPU just doesn't seem to have worked. My guess is that it doesn't handle the PCIe x1 limitation as well as the ION (which Nvidia themselves have worked on). PQ is better than the ION though, just not smooth.
