I was wondering when ICETV will be setting up the guide for TV4ME?

When is the channel being launched officially?

Sydney Metro

Make sure you have the TV4ME - IceTV channel setup to enable collection of the guide data

I dont have it in my IceTV profile on their www site

But I do have it as a channel on my Win Media Center and in the guide I am getting programming data for TV4ME (which is different than TVS - which also has programming)

Does TV4ME appear in your guide at all? - if not go into TV in Setup and make sure the channel is ticked to display

i'm currently just getting EIT/Inband data for TV4ME - so no real drama's as I would never ever want to record anything (but I guess still could if I didnt need series recording). It's all crap anyhow so don't care too much about any detailed descriptions.

if you are seeing EPG data come up then it's probably Inband (and you can just go enable it if you need to). It's possible the oztivo/shepherd based sources are including this data now too (havent checked) - they have most of the other community and datacast channels.

Interesting

Just looked at my latest guide data

From now until 11am on Thursday 16 February its showing "No Data Available." then programme data until 5pm on Saturday 18 February then back to "No Data Available."

It must be picking it up from inband data

It really doesnt matter to me as I am very unlikely to want to record infomercials - but like all things technology its a case of wanting to get to the bottom of it!

after enabling the Inband data (go into the edit channel config pages) - you normally need to then go and watch that channel. The now/next info should come up almost straight away in the epg - but the rest will take a little while to populate (keep in mind it needs an unused tuner or you need to be watch a channel from broadcasters group in order to fetch that data as EIT data is tramitted per each broadcaster).

I'm currently getting EIT data for up to 11pm sat night (no gaps) - and the descriptions are actually quite good/reasonable. It would be nice to have a xmltv source - but this will do fine for time being.

ps -they actually seem to occasionally show stuff which isnt straight ads - currently they are showing c|net tv so yes it's product promotions but has other stuff too...

I enabled it about a month ago for the Shepherd EPG feeds I produce (Bris, Syd, Mel, Adl, Perth). I don't know how successfully Shepherd has been getting the data and my enthusiasm for the channel is such that I doubt I would bother trying to fix it if its broken or has timezone issues. Inband data seems more then sufficient for this one.
