Service dies upon video information retrieval. Upon restart, it tries again, but pukes at the same spot every time. Last weeks episode of this same recording processed successfully.

MCEBuddy 2.0 Beta 18

Converstion to standard MP4 High Quality using Comskip

Not sure how to slim down a recording to a smaller size, but I've placed all the logs here:
ftp://debugger:mcebu...ad.serveftp.com
mcebuddy.log
original .wtv recording (>5GB ... please let me know how to slim it down, if needed)
conversion job log
Windows application crash report.

Hello,
Im having the same issue, though I havent looked to see at what point thin the process the service is crashing. I did just notice 2 event id's / error messages in the event viewer for the application logs. They hint at maybe an issue between MCEBuddy and .net.

If you look in your application logs do you see these errors?

Event ID: 1000
Faulting application name: MCEBuddy.Service.exe, version: 2.0.18.0, time stamp: 0x4e38b978
Faulting module name: mscorlib.ni.dll, version: 4.0.30319.239, time stamp: 0x4e1823db
Exception code: 0xc0000005

Event ID: 1026
Application: MCEBuddy.Service.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

If so maybe this is an issue that can be fixed with some .net tweaking (updating or rolling back to a previous version(Im thinking to around the time of this latest beta release - sometime in Aug)

Let me know how you make out.

I downloaded the 5GB file and tried to convert it using MCEBuddy 2.0 BETA 20 with comskip enabled and MP4 High Quality profile on a Windows 7 32 bit machine. It worked like a charm, converted it down to 660MB perfectly.

Are you using 64bit windows? it may be a problem there.

If not, I would suggest a clean install of BETA 20. Uninstall all other versions. DELETE the MCEBuddy installaion folder under program files and then install BETA 20.

Let me konw how it goes.

This maybe reeated to another problem. Look for a potential fix in BETA 21.
