Hi all, I'm trying to disable the IR receiver on my Antec Fusion case but I haven't been able to do it and am looking for help to find a solution. I don't care whether it is done through software or hardware I just need to kill it. I can't find anywhere in the iMon software to disable it from processing commands and I can't just unplug it because then I lose the VFD and volume knob - they are all connected together through an internal USB port. I have tried finding a way to disable it through device manager but have been unsuccessful so far.

Problem is I have a MS Remote IR receiver which I am using and because I have both going it is processing remote commands twice eg. when I hit the down arrow it will go down two items etc.

So if anyone can help on any ideas of how to do this it would be appreciated. I'd rather not have to resort to sticking a bit of black tape over the IR sensor, I would think there would have to be some way of doing it.

Thanks for your help.

There is an older version of the iMon software which lets you disable the IR receiver in the Option tab. I am looking for it now myself as I need it for my Windows 7 install. Or you can just disable the SG IR receiver in device manager but then the front display wont show you the names of whats currently playing. Hope this helps.

I pulled the LCD out and covered the IR receiver with black tape from the inside. You can't see it and there is no way any signal can reach it now. :D

I should have a copy of the beta software that they released ages ago that has the option to disable the IR receiver. This is for the silver V2 case (the black case has an LCD instead of a VFD).

If you can't find it at the soundgraph site, send me a PM with your email.

The iMON software on the Antec site has the option you need. You can download it from here: http://www.antec.com...sion_driver.zip. Easiest solution IMHO.

I was suffering from the same problems with the Anter Fusion remote IR sensor. My HTPC would randomly receive 5's from the sensor and wake up immediately after entering sleep mode.
I had no luck finding the disable IR option in any version of the software but have managed to disable the device in device manager by editing the devices registry entry.
For those interested here are the instructions, the usual warning about editing the registry apply. Also I'm running Windows 7 64 bit RC so YMMV.

The IR device appears in device manager under "Human Interface Devices" as "USB Input Device". There are two of these present, the one which offers a right-click disable option is to VFD, the other is the IR sensor. This can be confirmed by uninstalling the device and checking that the sensor is dead and the VFD still works. "Scan for Hardware Changes" to reinstall the device or reboot as windows will automatically reinstall the device anyway..

Open the device properties in device manager and select and copy the "Location" ID. (Mine is 0000.0013.0000.001.000.000.000.000.000.)
Now run regedit and search for this value under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB.
(Mine was located at HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_15C2&PID_0038&MI_00\6&1682572&0&0000)
In this key change the "ConfigFlags" entry from 0 TO 1 to set the device to disabled. I had to take owbership and give everyone full control of the key to do this.
Reboot and the device should be disabled, it will appear with a down arrow in Device Manager.
Enjoy not cursing at Antec/Imon for producing such a piece of cr4p that you paid good money for.
