I made this little program so I can navigate the ABC iView webpage. But you can edit MCEWebView.ini to change which webpage to go to.

- Use MCE remote to move cursor, click links and scroll web page
- Use back button to close app and restore MCE
- Disables screensaver while running

Just copy it wherever you want then create a shortcut to it in Start->Programs->Accessories->Media Center Programs. Rename the shortcut to the webpage (Eg. "ABC iView")

ToDo:

I wanted to turn off the view port when it runs and thought it could be done using an .mcl with SharedViewPort set to none but it doesn't work. The video is still playing so you have to stop the video playing in MCE before launching a webpage if it contains video.

I've just downloaded this for Win 7 32-bit. There are a few problems. The instructions (for Vista/Win 7) tell me to create a shortcut in a directory that does not exist on my machine.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs
There is no Media Center folder in Accessories. Same thing on my Vista machine.
So instead I created a new entry point using Media Center Studio. I can now launch the application from the Extras menu within 7MC. The program runs fine and I can navigate the default web page, but when I return to media center it's no longer full screen,I can see the desktop. I don't know if this is due to the way I installed it or if it's a bug. Please advise.

MCEWebView has been updated to include Plus7, Ten, FixPlay and SBS online. It also includes auto scrolling, no more script error dialogs, popups or multiple instances, and a fix for the latest Flash Player.

Hi

Thanks for this cool little app. I've been using it for a while, but just discovered the update. Autoscrolling is great. I have a problem though - switching to fullscreen video does not work for seven, ten and sbs. It works for fixplay, and is the default for iview. If I load these pages in firefox outside of Media center it works fine. Any tips on how to get this to work.

Thanks

daniel.

Hi,

thanks for the program, works really well, is great to be able to access these sites without exiting the MC environment. One query though, when I open i.e IView, it opens in a Browser like window but the window has no close or minimise tab. How do I close the browser window when I've finished accessing IView?? I did notice on the download site that there is a download for remote control function, is this to enable the remote control for this purpose??

Thanks Again.

Kal

Good stuff,

I'd been looking for a while for an iView plugin, couldnt find one anywhere, even tried mediaportal etc, bleh... and then I find this? Wow, I must not have looked too hard lol.

Ok, for those who do not have the folders on Win7, as the guy posted in 09 I think, just recreate them manually, and put the shortcuts in there - then they instantly appear in the Extras in WMC.

Problems still exist however, as the app actually swaps out of MCE to spawn the executable html viewer it does leave MCE out of full screen when returning. There is no way, that I can find, to exit the app using the remote.

Definitely liveable for now, beats the alternateives. I've just created a extra large shortcut to TheMaxifier which on loading does its magick.

I use TheMaxcifier to put MCE on my second monitor by default, maximised and not locking the mouse to it - effectively it forces a resize of the MCE window and changes it to a borderless window. This loses functionality with this, so the only option I have is using a wireless mouse/keyboard to do the awkward bits.. unconventional, but meh.. lol

The remote however, to navigate the cursor I need to hit buttons a gazillion times, the movement should be setable so you can customise it - instead of 1 pixel at a time, options to set it manually, so it doesnt take 2 years to start scrolling the window. Wireless mouse works great. And the wireless kb for the one option - ESC to exit Oo

But having these features in MCE is definitely a good thing, so I hope the author does revisit the thread with updates to it - not sure of the current status.

I'm confused as to which directory you need to copy and paste the shortcuts into? I've tried in Windows/ehome, but I cant get it to show up in WMC?

Any ideas?
BTW, I'm using Win7 64Bit

Past the shortcuts into the following (for Win7):

c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Media Center\Media Center Programs

You probably have to create the Media Center\Media Center Programs directories (at least I had to) and will probably have trouble with some file operations in those folders as they're protected system directories of some sort so note the directions from others already about creating the shortcuts on your desktop first and simply move them into the above folder as a second step.

Good luck!

When creating a custom website, Step 3 says:

3. Make the following changes:
- Open Google.mcl and change "iView" to "Google"

When I open the copied iView.mcl it opens the iView webpage. How do I "change "iView" to "Google""?

2. To create a custom website link (Eg. Google)
Copy iView.mcl, iView.ini, iView.png and iView.exe and rename them
- Google.mcl
- Google.ini
- Google.png
- Google.exe

3. Make the following changes:
- Open Google.mcl and change "iView" to "Google"
- Open Google.ini and set the Url to http://www.google.com
- Edit Google.png in a graphics program to make an appropriate icon

4. Create a link to Google.mcl as in step 1

Thanks for this awesome plugin!

In a future update it would be good to be able to set a default universal view level for the webpages.

I was hoping to use this to open a page to YouTube Leanback, but it just sits on some kind of loading page for the site... getting YT to work on MCE has become a pain of epic proportions :/

Anyone know a workaround!?
