The file in the following link is the latest set up file for [SIZE=3]Sydney.
Install after a complete install of XMLTV Guide Pack.
Disregard the instructions earlier in this thread.
It will set all configuration settings automatically.
It will only work in Sydney but if installed in other states of oz you can then replace the Sydney.exe file with the batch file above. you will only need to change the Id settings in the xmltv rules config file.
[FONT=Arial]Download ---> Sydney eit
Hi,
So with the xmltiv guide pack do you now deselect all channels?
Once setup do you have to run stuff regularly to keep up to date? Do i set a scheduled task for sydney.exe?
Thanks.

Hi Width,
Make changes to the xmltvRules.config file.
Located at "C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\Common\Tools\xmltvRules.config"
Make changes using the "adjustProgrammeTime" Rule.
Example: "0060" = Add one hour, "-0060" = Substracts one hour.
These are the settings on my own system in Sydney.
<!-- Channel Nine NSW ID settings -->
<rule type="changeChannelId" currentId="1" newId="1900" />
<rule type="adjustProgrammeTime" channelId="1900" adjustment="-0060" />
<rule type="changeChannelId" currentId="5" newId="1910" />
<rule type="adjustProgrammeTime" channelId="1910" adjustment="-0060" />
<!-- Channel Ten ID settings -->
<rule type="changeChannelId" currentId="1573" newId="1930" />
<rule type="adjustProgrammeTime" channelId="1930" adjustment="-0060" />
<rule type="changeChannelId" currentId="1569" newId="1950" />
<rule type="adjustProgrammeTime" channelId="1950" adjustment="-0060" />
<rule type="changeChannelId" currentId="1575" newId="1955" />
<rule type="adjustProgrammeTime" channelId="1955" adjustment="-0060" />
<rule type="changeChannelId" currentId="1576" newId="1940" />
<rule type="adjustProgrammeTime" channelId="1940" adjustment="-0060" />
Hi,
1. So with the xmltiv guide pack do you now deselect all channels?
2. Once setup do you have to run stuff regularly to keep up to date?
3. Do i set a scheduled task for sydney.exe?
Thanks.
Hi blocka,
1. Yes, you can deselect all channels.
You can also select additional channels.
If you select additional channels they will be stored in a file called xmltv.xml
Located here. "C:\ProgramData\Eit\Raw Files\xmltv.xml"
and processed with the eit xml files. Then added to media center listings.
2. Once a day to every second day. On general ABC listings run 2 to 3 days. Other stations run 7 days.
3. I had it running in a scheduled task. Although at a later date I decided to just click on the icon on the desktop.
Make sure you run the desktop icon with administrative rights.
The file below is configured for following stations + dummy files.

Hi Bryce,
Anyway, just wondering if you could please make a Melbourne version using the SBS eit data (now that they are transmitting it )?
Attached is the scanchannels bda log.
Thanks again mate!
I've built setups for Melbourne Brisbane and Adelaide.
In the past couple of weeks information for SBS Ten/One HD have changed and I need new scanchannels bda log files for the above locations to finalise these setups with xmltvRules.
Please post the latest scanchannels scans to this thread.
Please post the latest scanchannels bda log file you have for Perth and I will make a setup file for Perth. It will be set up the same as the Sydney setup file.kinda changing the subject but was wondering if Bryce or anyone has a copy of Bryces EIT app. for Perth, or another state and I can change it.

Thanks for such a great contribution on getting the eit guide up and running for everyone here, muchly appreciated.
I'm currently having just a few minor probs altering the channel id's in the xmltvrules.config file for the Sunshine Coast. Is there any chance you could also do up a couple files for the Sunshine Coast at all? Or even a push in the right direction with altering xmltvrules.
I've attached a copy of Sunshine coast ScanBDA, and a copy of the latest Brisbane Scan BDA.
Cheers
Christian

hey bryce, thanks again for all the hard work. data from EIT has been awesome. i've attached the current melbourne scanchannels file.
just over the last 2 or 3 days, i've been recieving an error from media center saying that the guide can't be updated. could this be because of the channel updates?
i've attached the error message. the bat file runs perfectly, gets all the data from each provider, xmlmerge finishes ok, xmlalter finishes ok and then tries to inject it into MC which returns the error. Not sure what the go is.
I've opened up the listings.xml file in the xtmltv viewer and all the data looks good

Hi ideas_man69
Go into guide service proxy configuration and make sure it's active.
It may not be turned on.
If start is highlighted in blue click on it and restart the proxy. Bottom of pic

Also check the following settings.
Guide service Proxy

xmltv configuration setting.

been using it for a while now and its worked perfectly
however in the last few days i have no guide at all and i dont quite understand why
i checked your above post for the epgstream settings and all are intact
Is this to do with the channel changes you mentioned?
Some info:
Sydney EIT 3.1
non-registered epgstream user
VMC non service packed

you are the man. i opened up guideserviceproxy config and got the error attached below. i remember that i changed my mediacenter's hostname the other day and from what i can see - guideserviceproxy is configured based on host name. i clicked yes and everything seems to be perfect now.
cheers mate!

Hi Christian Welcome to the forum.
I put together 3 files for you.
*Please Note*
Before running the setups, store your original xmltv rules file in a safe place.
Otherwise the xmltv file will be overwritten.
The xmltv rules file is in this location.
"C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\Common\Tools\xmltvRules.config"
Always use administrative rights with the set up icon and the desktop eit icon.
(right click run as administrator)
The first setup file is -- Sunshine Coast Eit Setup.zip
The second file is the same as the first file except it is configured to show Southern Cross.
-- Sunshine Coast sc Eit Setup.zip
The third file is the setup for Brisbane. -- Brisbane Eit Setup.zip
hey bryce, thanks again for all the hard work. data from EIT has been awesome. i've attached the current melbourne scanchannels file.
Hi ideas_man69
Thanks for the scanchannels file.
I finally put together a set up for Melbourne. -- Melbourne Eit Setup.zip

do you have a quick n dirty guide on setting this one up?
previously i setup your old batch file to ONLY get data from EIT and got rid of all traces to the xmltvdownloader. i noticed that when i ran the exe file, it tried to download some data from the net - what is trying to get?

thanks mate.. i've removed xmltv pack and all the original files so i could start from scratch. i followed the guide on the first page of this thread but it appears that your latest setup files installs to a different directory.

1. Make sure EPGScan.exe is located in this path.
"C:\Program Files\EPGScan\EPGScan.exe"
2. Install xmltvGuidePack setup.
If xmltvGuidePack is already installed on the system select remove.
let the program finish.
3.Restart xmltvGuidePack setup.
When it asks for a setup type. Select ....Complete.
When xmltvGuidePack setup comes to the end. It has a check box that says
Launch XMLTV GuidePack ... check mark the check box and select Finish.
4. The XMLTV Guide Wizard now starts. ... select Start.
5. On screen 2 of 18 select Both xmltv Download + Guide service Proxy ... Next
6. At screen 3 of 18 make sure your liscense files are installed before the next step.
7. Step 8 of 18 select your region.
8. Step 9 of 18 clear all check boxes unless you want a particular channel.
9. Step 10 of 18 leave as is. -----Default 7 days Enable data forecasting.
10. 11 of 18 leave as is. next
11. At Step 15 of 18 Check mark the check box Skip testing your system. -- Next
12 Finish
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Backup any xmltv rules you have in the tools folder. Melbourne eit will over write them.
1. Install Melbourne eit setup. Right click install as administrator.
2. Click next until you get the screen for additional icons.
Check mark both check boxes. --Next
3. Install
4. Melbourne eit will install. Then a dos box will pop up and stop the proxy service.
It then sets the paths for xmltv download and the proxy service.
Then restarts the proxy. (No need to type any configuration paths for the proxy or xmltv download programs. Its all automatic.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Go to the desktop icon.
Right click select properties.
Select advanced tab.
Select run as administrator.
Click apply
Close.
Double click on Melbourne eit icon and every thing should start.
If you want to see it working observe these folders when xml files load in.
Make a shortcut to your desktop.
First folder to fill "C:\ProgramData\Eit\Raw Files"
Second folder to fill "C:\ProgramData\Eit\Listings"
Final listings file generated "C:\ProgramData\Eit\Listings.xml"
