"C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\Common\Tools\xmltvRules.config"
This is the file to edit
It should be this one
xmltvRules Set at 1000.zip 11.98K
12 downloads---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"C:\Program Files\epgStream.net\Common\Tools\xmltvAlter.exe.config"
Do not edit this file
If it gets to difficult.
I will zip different rules for you to try with different time zone settings.
You can then test them in xmltv XMLTV EPG Veiwer to see which one is the correct time setting for your programs.
If you have more trouble with the editing let me know and I willl post those rules.

Good oneThanks Bryce, I changed the value to 1000 and the guide now appers correctly.
Think of Bris/Syd eit as being a batch file. see picQuestion/clarification of how this works - So EIT guide data is usually (say in TV Pack) downloaded via the stream while watching a channel. Your workaround actually uses the Sydney/Brisbane eit application to get the data?

In sydney the info is reasonably good. Although the text content is woeful hence the xmlAlter rules. If so, how accurate/often updated by the networks is the info?
ABC has the best text content. It would be nice if the other stations follow their trend.
I'm really not sure how often through the week they actually update their system.
Any information missing further in the guide is usually updated before the date of veiwing.
In general you get up to a week of guide.
Channel 2 gives one to three days of guide. It might be different in other states.
When ever I'm on the computer I do a manual hit.Should I schedule Brisbane eit to run once a week, every couple of days, once a day, or 3 or 4 times a day?
If you do a task schedule. Once a day is sufficient.
Just remember that if Bris eit trys to grab the guide when there is a recording happening
there will be a conflict. Two tasks trying to use the one card.
I don't know if this is also true when a system has more than one card on the system. I only have one card on my system.

Thanks again for this workaround. It will be nice to have correct data for Ch 9.

These are very fool proof instructions if you read carefully and follow exactly. I managed to get my guide back up and running with EIT within 20 minutes.
Just one question. How accurate is this guide data compared to Oztivo?

- If I set something to record that isn't a series, once the eit updates, it wipes the recording. Eg, The other day I had chosen to record King Kong last night, but then yesterday I noticed that it wasn't set to record. This has happened with a couple of things.
- When using ICE guide, Monster Garage (and the other HD programming on CH 10) had their own title. With the eit they are displayed as "HD Documentry" and then have the shows name in the desciption. Because of this I record the series (and record all of these documentaries). The stange thing is that if I then go and select "Do not record", for a show I am not interested in, when the eit updates it resets it to record.
Just interested to see if anyone else sees this.

Hi Greg
I haven’t experienced that issue on my own system.
I tried to replicate the problem by setting the same scenario as explained in your question. I chose a program that wasn't a series and did an update.
I went back into the guide and found the recording was still OK.
I haven't seen this problem before. I'm wondering if it could be a setting in the media center settings. Have a look through the settings listed here. And see if they match up with the settings on your system
These are the current settings on my system. See if they match with yours.

I can only suggest ideas to try to rectify the issue. They may work they may not work.
The only thing I can think of doing for the above question, is the following.
Go into Recorded TV / View scheduled / Series / Highlight a program / Right click or push info button on remote / Cancel series/
Remove every thing in the series list
Close media center and reboot.
Then reschedule your programs.
See if those steps help in someway.
Whatever the cause that sounds like an annoying issue.
I hope the steps above help in someway.

My Record Settings are as per what you have, with the exception of the pre (2 mins) and post (3 mins) padding.
I have just gone through and done a clean out of the sereis (not a bad thing to do as there were 125 and many multiples of the same show). I will restart now and let you know tomorrow if this changes anything.

Thanks again for you help with this.
OT. Does anyone know if Windows 7 is able to pull the EIT info correctly - out of the box?

Firstly I need to obtain accurate information to be able to do that.
I haven't been able to determine if the major citys all use the same frequencies.
It would appear Sydney and Melbourne do. Although I need to get that confirmed.
Hi Bryce,
Great work on this EIT stuff. I've been using the same setup since i followed your old guide.. Just thought i'd have a look and see what updates you have done. I downloaded and followed all the info in the first post but couldn't transform it to work in Melbourne as you are now using an .EXE file rather than a .BAT file.
Anyway, just wondering if you could please make a Melbourne version using the SBS eit data (now that they are transmitting it
Attached is the scanchannels bda log.
Thanks again mate!

Sanix
The file you currently have is only set up for ABC, 7, 9, 10 not SBS.With SBS eit now available, when installing, do you still need to do some stuff with epgstream, or was that only to get the sbs listings? Can you just simply install sydney eit to get it running now?
I would need to compile a new Brisbane eit file with the SBS settings.
If you use the batch file posted below then you can get SBS but you also have to make adjustments to the xmltv rules and program paths suited to the batch file.

If I had the time I would make you and sanix a file to suit your location. (Melbourne, Brisbane.) But at the moment it's not possible due to work commitment.Anyway, just wondering if you could please make a Melbourne version using the SBS eit data (now that they are transmitting it
)?
What I can offer is to add the workings of the file to this thread. In batch file format.
All you would need to do is change the frequency settings if they are different to the one's you use in your area.
And set the correct paths in your computer to get the batch file to work.
Also you would need to adjust the xmltvDownload and wmcGuideServiceProxy configuration settings.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the Program Files path for the batch file.
Place the batch file in the following location.
"C:\Program Files\Eit\Sydney.bat" ------- make a shortcut to the desktop and give administrative rights.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
These are the ProgramData paths for the batch file.
"C:\ProgramData\Eit\Channel directory"
"C:\ProgramData\Eit\Dummy listing files" ----> Sydney only
"C:\ProgramData\Eit\Listings"
"C:\ProgramData\Eit\Raw Files"
"C:\ProgramData\Eit\Listings.xml"
Also I can add the rules file so you can edit and adjust for your area as well.
Main batch file. Omit the blue text if not in Sydney.

25 downloads Change the Sydney channel Id's to Melbourne / Brisbane Id'sThe file in the following link is the latest set up file for Sydney.
Install after a complete install of XMLTV Guide Pack.
Disregard the instructions earlier in this thread.
It will set all configuration settings automatically.
It will only work in Sydney but if installed in other states of oz you can then replace the Sydney.exe file with the batch file above. you will only need to change the Id settings in the xmltv rules config file.
