Hi!

Processing actions, this may take some time!!
Profile = dvrmstompg
Output DVR-MS file as one MPEG stream
Conversion Started: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Documents\Recorded TV\Seinfeld_SIC COMEDIA_20_09_2006_14_01_03.dvr-ms to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Documents\Recorded TV\seinfeld.mpg
Error in Do Work - COM object with CLSID {BC650178-0DE4-47DF-AF50-BBD9C7AEF5A9} is either not valid or not registered.

Hi ucha,

Found a discussion on >GreenButton, which sounds like your problem.

Simple answer, just register the dvr2wmv.dll file. To do this:

1) Open a command window (cmd.exe from Start...Run)
2) Change to the directory in which DVRMSTOOLBOX is installed
3) Type "regsvr32 dvr2wmv.dll" & hit enter.
4) Give the toolbox another try!

Cheers,

Ben

I also have this problem, even after I ran the regsvr command. Any ideas?

InputFile=F:\Videos\Terminator 3_NBN_03_09_2006_20_28_05.dvr-ms

Output DVR-MS file as one MPEG stream

Sounds like the file is DRM'd. Toolbox (or anything else, I think) will NOT convert protected files. (Terminator 3 is probably one...). However, recheck the regsvr command.

in RUN box:
regsvr32.exe "c:\program files\dvr-mstoolbox (or whatever yours is) \dvr2wmv.dll" Hit ENTER

Why would it be protected when I recorded it from the TV a few weeks ago?

I tried that regsvr32 command but it didn't make any difference.

Many programs are broadcast with a DRM built-in. Premium stations like HBO, SHOWTIME do it all the time. You can watch them, but NOT edit them. And Toolbox won't work with them.

I hadn't heard that stations were doing that here - scary. Anyway, I used Cyberlink Power Producer and it converted the DVR-MS to MPEG happily. Maybe I've installed something which is interfering with DVRMS toolbox, but I can't think what.

I looked into it, and apparently "BC650178-0DE4-47DF-AF50-BBD9C7AEF5A9" is the GUID for the CLDump.ax MPEG codec. I have this codec in c:\windows\system32 and I ran regsvr32 against it, but DVRMSToolbox still does not work. I searched the registry for this GUID, but found no references to it. I also downloaded AutoDVRConvert, and it uses the same COM class, and so doesn't work.
