I was appalled at the number of cooks and chefs not wearing a hat or a cap on TV Saturday night “Absolutely Melbourne” “All you can eat” Channel 7
One of the fundamental images of an educated chef, is wearing a hat while preparing food.
Apart from breaking the "Australian Culinary Code of Practices", ( see salonculinaire.com) underpinning wearing a hat while the preparing food in a commercial kitchen is a professional attitude towards one industry and the safe and healthy preparation of food for public consumption.
Thank you to those chefs who wore hats and caps to demonstrate their professionalism in the commercial kitchen.
